Production company Dutch Tilt Film has optioned the American screen rights to the thriller Girl In The Dark, by Marion Pauw. The book was a major bestseller in the Netherlands.
William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, is publishing the book in English in the US on February 16th, 2016. A Dutch film version of the thriller (Daglicht) was released in 2013 by Eyeworks.
Award-winning, internationally bestselling author Pauw is making her American debut with this taut, riveting domestic drama with the compulsive intensity of The Good Girl, The Pocket Wife, and The Stranger. The book is highly anticipated and has already garnered strong notices: Herman Koch, NYT bestselling author of The Dinner, calls it “One of the most thrilling and entertaining suspense writers of The Netherlands — or any country for that matter. Marion Pauw just may be the Dutch answer to Gillian Flynn.” Its starred Booklist review says, “Pauw’s American debut is a tense revelation of dangerous family secrets and a challenge to preconceptions about autism…. A must-read for fans of character-driven stories, such as Tana French’s Faithful Place.”
