Ype Driessen is a writer and the only autobiographical photo comic strip artist in the world. Since 2007, he has been creating photo comics about his life, contributing to several newspapers and magazines and various university magazines. In 2020, Driessen published The Last Gay Man on Earth, his photo comic strip autobiography, which was well-received and translated into English and French. Together with Botte Jellema, Driessen produces the award-winning podcast The Age of the Amateur (60,000 listeners). Vanilla is his debut novel.
