Judith Koelemeijer is a writer of literary non-fiction. She made her breakthrough with her family history The Silence of Maria Zachea, which sold over 350,000 copies and was awarded the NS Readers Award. Anna Boom and Ascension were also bestsellers. Her most recent work is the highly acclaimed biography of Etty Hillesum, which was shortlisted for the Brusseprijs, the Dutch Biography Prize, and the Libris History Prize. It has been translated into Italian, German and French.
